School Structure

The academic philosophy of the College is that students have the best chance to learn when they are grouped in classes of similar ability and extended to the utmost.
We will academically stream our Year 9 and 10 classes (with the exclusion of the Whanau class). This will enable us to narrow the ability range within each class so that our teachers can better focus on the common learning needs within the group as well as cater for individual needs. Opportunities are available for students to shift levels as their potential develops.
The College is a member of the GATE project which provides extension enrichment programmes for gifted and talented Year 9 and 10 students.
A number of opportunity classes will provide additional support to those students with significant learning needs.
