MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou,

A heartfelt welcome to term four. This is one of the busiest yet most rewarding times of the year. Our focus is resolutely on the academic outcomes of all students as the school calendar comes to a close. All senior students are preparing for NCEA examinations and continuing to work on internal assessments to ensure they meet their academic targets. Our junior students will also be heading into an assessment focussed time of the year and rounds of Progressive Achievement Testing (PATs).

PRIZEGIVINGS
As indicated in prior newsletters, due to current alert levels we are holding modified versions of our school prizegivings. Sports, Arts, Academic and Graduation ceremonies will, unfortunately, be student and staff only with families able to watch a live stream of these celebrations. While we acknowledge the disappointment felt by families around not being able to attend these events we appreciate your support as without these measures, we would not be able to host these events at all. Further details around these events will be shared soon and a decision on Junior Prizegiving will be made closer to the time.

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Year 13 Eden Denyer for being selected for the Young Shakespeare Company New Zealand to tour England next year. This is a remarkable achievement that has been a goal of Eden’s for some time. Fingers crossed travel restrictions relax enough for this opportunity to proceed.

Congratulations to the following students for completing university papers this year. On top of a busy NCEA programme, work and co-curricular activities this group has made the most of our enrichment opportunities and have a great head start on future tertiary study.
