Alastair Sinton – Deputy Principal
Alastair's key role is focused around the visible learning of our students and with the ongoing development and refinement of assessment, tracking and reporting practices in the junior and senior school. This portfolio is centred on the developing of students’ assessment capability, where students actively participate in assessing their learning by engaging them in interpreting their assessment practice so that they are better placed to recognise their own personal style of learning. This analysis of learning helps students identify their strengths and needs, and discover how to make ‘Where to next?’ decisions, and therefore become more independent in their own learning.
Alastair also uses assessment information to provide a wealth of data to enable teachers to track the progress of students as well as overseeing a regime of data- led improvement.
As a senior leader, Alastair has leadership over the learning and pastoral care for all students in Years 11.
