Junior Baywide Champs Success for Basketball

A HUGE congratulations to our two Junior A Basketball Teams who participated in the Baywide Champs on Friday, 3 August 2018.
The Junior A Girls, lead by Rob Tuilave and Spencer Webster came away with the win which is not only the first time MMC girls have won but also the first time MMC has entered girls in this tournament.  They took the win from Rotorua Girls who have a long streak of winning this comp. Payton Takimoana was named tournament MVP after her peformance in the tournament.
The Junior A Boys, lead by Joe Broughton, also performed to their normal high standard in the Premier Division, coming in a close second against TBC.  Well done team!  Very proud of you all as always.
The teams are playing with great skill and strength and will continue to prepare for the BBNZ Junior Premiership held at ASB Baypark from 1-4 September.

Fees:

The fee for local basketball will be $135.  This will cover TCBA local basketball league entry fees, uniform and equipment use.  If your child is involved in an A grade team, please be aware that other tournaments will be entered and therefore, these will hold additional fees which will vary on price depending on where the tournaments are held.  We will notify you of such costs as soon as the information becomes available to us.

Please note that in order for your child to participate in basketball in 2018, all basketball fees must be paid in full two weeks prior to the first game however a 50% deposit must be paid initially.  This includes previous years fees for basketball.  If you are unsure if you are up to date with previous years fees, please contact the school office for this information. If there are any concerns regarding payment please email me so we can discuss payment options.  The school has a strict ‘no pay, no play’ policy therefore communication with us is imperative to ensure you child doesn't miss out.  If your child pulls out of basketball after the final team lists have been submitted and paid for to TCBA, a refund will not be available and full payment may still be required.  Payment can be made to the office by cash, cheque, Eftpos or credit card (a 1.55% surcharge applies) alternatively on line by direct credit 12-3486-0032080-02.
