2025 Out of Zone Enrolment

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

2025 Out of Zone Applications - Year 9 to Year 13 (Separate Ballots)

Mount Maunganui College will be accepting a small number of out of zone enrolments for 2025 at selected year levels. These numbers are an estimate, and the school has the right to review this allocation depending on changes to expected in-zone enrolment numbers.

Out of zone enrolments will be based on an order of priority set for all schools by the Ministry of Education. The order is as follows:

  • First priority will be given to students who have been accepted for enrolment in a special programme run by the school and approved by the Secretary for Education. This priority category is not applicable to Mount Maunganui College because the school does not run a special programme approved by the Secretary.
  • Second priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.  The enrolment scheme gives right of enrolment to any sibling of a student who was enrolled at Mount Maunganui College as at 27 September 2021. This transitional provision applies for a period of five years from 27 September 2021.  Siblings covered by the transitional provision will be considered in-zone students and will only need to complete an in-zone application form.
  • Third priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.
  • Fourth priority will be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school.
  • Fifth priority will be given to applicants who are children of employees of the school’s Board of Members.
  • Sixth priority will be given to all other students who live outside the school zone and who wish to attend this College.

You will need to complete the out of zone enrolment form and submit all supporting documentation. The application must include:

  • A copy of your child’s birth certificate.
  • If your child was not born in NZ, a copy of your child's birth certificate,  Passport and Visa
  • A most recent school report.
  • NZQA record of learning for students at Years 11, 12 and 13.
  • Any legal documents regarding your child (for example, parenting order, protection order).

An out of zone application must be received by the College by Wednesday, 28 August 2024.

The ballot for out of zone applications will be held on Wednesday,11 September 2024 and enrolment confirmation will be sent on Friday, 13 September 2024.
